TotalEnergies wins tender for LNG supply to Bulgargaz

by admin

Bulgarian public gas supplier Bulgargaz said on Friday that it has selected UK-based TotalEnergies Gas and Power as the winner in a public tender to deliver 1 million MWh of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the Alexandroupolis LNG terminal in Greece in each of the months of November and December.

TotalEnergies ranked first out of 13 international companies which took part in the tender, offering the most competitive terms, Bulgargaz said in a statement. The remaining bidders were not disclosed.

At the end of August, Bulgargaz launched three tenders for the supply of a total of five cargoes, or 5 million MWh of LNG, as part of its reserved capacity at the Alexandroupolis terminal. The first tender covered the supply of natural gas in October, the second – in November and December, while the third procedure is for deliveries in January and February 2025. Each tender includes one LNG load per month.

The October procurement, concluded last month, secured 1 million MWh of LNG from Norway, which was delivered to Alexandroupolis earlier this week. Registration for the January-February 2025 tender is ongoing, with a supplier expected to be chosen in mid-November.

TotalEnergies Gas and Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of French multinational energy and petroleum company TotalEnergies.
